A community-minded resident has continued their efforts to tidy neglected parts of the town, filling two large bags while clearing an area near the bridge.
The latest clean-up took place along the route from the bridge towards Colour Supplies.
The resident had originally intended to remove only a few weeds, but the task quickly grew into a much larger job.
They said: “I was only going to pull a few weeds, but it turned into a big job and two dumpy bags. Story of my life.”
No photographs were taken before the work began, as the scale of the task only became apparent once the clearing was underway.
The resident added: “It looks better, though. You don’t realise how bad it is sometimes until you start.”
The work follows previous clean-ups carried out around the town, including areas near Aldi and other routes used by pedestrians and visitors.
Their continuing efforts have highlighted how quickly weeds, rubbish and general overgrowth can build up in public spaces when regular maintenance is not carried out.
