Members of Oswestry Tae Kwon Do have been praised after representing the club at the North Midlands Championships in Derby.
Seven competitors and three officials travelled to the event, with the club describing the day as a fantastic team effort and saying every student gave their best in the arena.
The competitors returned with a strong set of results across sparring and technique events.
Artur won silver in individual sparring before adding a gold medal in tag team sparring, while Matthew and Lexi both secured silver medals in their individual sparring categories.
Jake enjoyed a particularly successful competition, winning gold in individual sparring and bronze in the flying side kick event.
Nicholas also added to the club’s medal tally with a bronze medal in individual sparring.
A spokesperson for Oswestry Tae Kwon Do said the dedication, hard work and commitment shown by students during training had been clear throughout the competition.
They said: “Medals are a fantastic achievement, but the courage to compete, the discipline shown in preparation and the respect shown throughout the day are what make us most proud.”
The club also thanked its officials for giving their time to support the championships, along with the parents and supporters who helped make the day a success.
“Every competition is an opportunity to learn, grow and become a better martial artist, and our students represented the club brilliantly,” the spokesperson added.
